Two is company , Three is definetly a crowd.well Pyar, Ishq Aur Mohhabat totally seems to be based on this above saying.Rajiv rais latest offering after the superb GUPTis far from his usual crisp and well told movies.
The film revolves around Isha Nair(kirti reddy, I wonder what she was doing there in the first place, didnt rajiv find anyone else?), Business tycoon Yash Sabbarwal(macho Sunil Shetty in well an almost DHADKAN kind of guy), Model Gaurav(The utterly gorgeous and handsome Arjun Rampal)and Taj Bhardwaj(cutie-Pie Aftab).
Isha on receiving a scholarship from Yash Sabbarwals company leaves for Scotland. But Yash along with the scholarship gives her an extra incentive-His heart too.But Isha flatly refuses mouthing a few dialogues about bharatiya nari and their oppression.Enter Gaurav who is Mr.Flamboyant and charming who is embarked to Scotland by Yash to win Ishas heart for him, promising him a rich reward of 10 crores. The suprising part is that the very strong willed Isha who said no shaadi ka khayyal till she completed her research falls like a ton of bricks for Gaurav. But then her local gaurdian Lord Bharadwajs son Taj is holding the torch for her.Throw in some Maya (Monica bedi)Gauravs best buddy and Rubina(Isha kopikar) Tajs best buddy, the confusion mounts.Isha, then discovers that gaurav cheating behind her back which is infact part of gauravs game to get her into yashs arms. She then is left with Yash and Taj both whom are ready to accept her even then. Then enter her parents who get her engaged to Taj.But then better late than never gaurav discovers he loves her for real too.Well who gets her in the end , take a wild guess. After all the hindi movies we all watch , this shouldnt be too difficult, right?
The movie has a very poor storyline. The cinematography is simply superb and the locales are breathtaking praticularly the picturisation of the songs , full credit to Rajiv Rai they are awesome. But the story really fails to impress.Debutante Arjun Rampal is the best part of the movies apart from the music. He looks and acts like a dream(and all the guys out there please I am not biased by his hot looks).Aftab is ok as the silent lover boy , sunil shetty well his usual self(take your pick, good or bad as per your choice).but I have to strongly say that kirti well I am not at all impressed. The music is quite good especially the title song whose picturisation is well outta the world(imagine if through the entire song I quit seeing arjun for that)and most of the other songs are very meaningful and well done.
on the whole , Pyar, Ishq Aur Mohhabbat all meaning love gives no new dimension to the word .Love as usual means laughs, tears, family pressures and sacrifice.Well that is usual hindi cinema formula , isnt it?so I would just say , on the whole, old wine in a new bottle.
