Time Pass .......

This is a movie with which you can spend some time and forget.    This gives some comedy in regular frequencies, which you can enjoy, but lacks the consolidation.

Pyare (Fardeen Khan) is blind and Mohan (Vivek Oberoi) is deaf. (They were dupes for fights in Films and in one occasion while they escape fire met an accident, which leads to their present fate). They live happily & compliment each other in their needs. When they are not together, they make their own mess for the merry of us. They own an Archies shop and they sell cards. Having disabled do not hinder them from doing the business.

One day, during Pyare Mohan’s morning walk, Mohan meet Priya (Amrita Rao) and leaves Pyare and follows her.   Knowing he is deaf, she feel sympathy for him and they become friends.   As Pyare now going alone, made merry of his blindness and accidently met Preethi(Esha Deol), sister of Priya.   PP Sisters (they like to be known as that) are trying to establish themselves as pop singers.   In their need of emergency Pyare Mohan helps PP.   Love is in card for Pyare Mohan (Now onwards PM) but PP is very practical and unlike other Bollywood films, they express that they only share friendship.   For partners, they need somebody who can take care of them and not somebody who need always help from them.

PP leaves for Bangkok for a music show, as they are now world famous.   In flight, they heard the confession of Tony (Boman Irani). The father who took the confession is been killed by Boman Irani soon after his disembarking from the flight. PP wanted to help the father to save his life and caught red handed (misunderstood) by Thailand Police. PM see this in TV and want to save PP from this crisis. By now Tony knows that PP knows Tony is the killer, send his people to kill PP.   PM understand their plan.

Will PM will be able to help PP out of this situation?   Whether PP will fall in love with PM?   Or they remain as friends only? Why Boman Irani had to confess in a flight? How rest of the story unveils? You may watch PYARE MOHAN.

Pyare Mohan is once again a light entertainer.    Keep brain at home.   Otherwise you will have only time to think about the lack of logics in the happenings. But there are lot of sequences which compel you to laugh.

PERFORMANCE

Vivek Oberoi - as Mohan scores. It is really nice to watch Vivek executing nice comedy.   His learning process by reading others mouth is good and when he heard always half and assume the rest, good comedy is created.

Fardeen Khan - as Pyare is ok.   Afer many years in the industry, the actor is still has to be directed.

Esha Deol - as Preethi is energetic and performs well. Her ’’I am the daughter of the Indian HeMan’’ is good.

Amrita Rao - as Priya is ok.   She need to take some more lessons of flexing facial muscles and also has to understand that to become an actress, a good face is not sufficient.

Boman Irani - as villain is adequate.   His cruelty is more noted than his comedy.

All other cast is ok.

STORY & SCREENPLAY

The film is based on a thin story line. Though they explained the story and arranged the screenplay well, the writers failed to produce any impression as their own.

DIRECTION

Indrakumar is known for his films like Mann, Dil & Masti.   I have to say the director is not reached the mark he could earn. However, this one is not a bad performance either.   Comedy is an area where special care to be taken on each minute movement of the actor/actress. Timing is important and the situations created.   Vivek Oberoi often act like he is not only deaf, but also blind. This is simple overlooking by the director, who wanted to create one comic situation. But in comedy film, execution of the scene is also equally important. The shifting of Mohan from marriage procession to funeral procession is an example.   Similar scenes are repeated in several occasions.   The product is supposed to be a comic one, but the interval and the film ends with serious notes. Had the director tried to create some fun in these two occasions, consolidating the hilarious proceedings he has successfully created, the fate of the film would have been much better.   Having said that the film have its own comic scenes and one can laugh for some time, without doubt.

CINEMATOGRAPHY & EDITING

Cinematography is done well.    Editing is ok.

MUSIC & CHOREOGRAPHY

There are atleast 2 above average numbers and 2 below average numbers. ’Tu Jahan Bhi Jaayegi – I Love You My Angel’ is the song of the film, where the initial number is the worst. However the humming of Pyare Mohan is intruding. Choreography is strictly average and it has not been supported by the sets. However the love song is well executed.

CRITICAL VIEW

The film starts off well, giving you hope that this will be the first hit of the season. But, at the time you reach interval, you have to concede that this is only an average fare.    Once the characters are established, either the story should move the film with comic situations or comedy should leads the story. Here the story proceeds as its own without taking comedy along with. Comedy is finding its place in between only.   It is not well synchronised. Where we expect the film to unfold some good comedy the director opted some of the buffoon kind of items which was fashioned in 70s or 80s.   After interval the film again started to create tickling your ribs, but then the film turns serious and a lot of time is wasted in chase, chase and action in a 2 hours plus 5 or 10 minute film.   In a comedy film where one is blind and one is deaf, a lot of opportunities were there to extract even in the chase and action, but the director failed to take advantage of it.   A scene where the director has to depend one crude or vulgar joke like even the back of a horse is not spared - is sympathetic.   Despite the fact that the Vulgar or sex comedy do create a tickle among the masses, the quality of the product is so much down graded because of such low rated comedy.

As I mentioned earlier, from the shot one, there is no logic in the story and anyway we didn’t expect one from this one, as it is advertised as a comedy film. The characters are either cartoon kind or buffoon type. Anyway, there are glimpses of good comedy here and there.

Week after week, reviews on films gives one simple answer, good script and I think still bollywood producers/directors are to taken this point seriously.

There are some scenes which need special mention, which is sure to create some laughs.

  1. The fight by Fardeen Khan, where Vivek Oberoi guide him about the position of the enemy with the help of hands of the clock.

  2. Fardeen & Vivek at their shop.

  3. Vivek Oberoi reading the mouth of others and repeat it, often with mistake.

  4. Fardeen makes the mess at the Road

  5. Vivek switch on the music when Boman searches him.

  6. The scene where the car is on balance, on tip of the building and a dove make it fall.

  7. Boman Irani’s villainous action with bottles (This one of course not for laugh, but very serious, serious than other average action films)

Overall, the film worth a watch for some humour generated, if not for Vivek and Esha.

At box office, the film will do an average business. Means, we have to wait for a big hit this season.
