~~~Great entertainer~~
Pyare Mohan, directed by Indr Kumar, is a joyride, which ships you into an altogether different world.
Pyare (Fardeen Khan) is blind Day or night, light or darkness makes no difference to him. He goes on morning walks, reads the newspaper upside down and can sense a man’s intention despite his inability to see.
Mohan (Vivek Oberoi) needs just an excuse to break into dance at the slightest opportunity. He is deaf and can’t hear a damn thing, but he shakes his leg to the music, be it a marriage ceremony or (mistakenly) a funeral procession.
Together, Pyare and Mohan are inseparable friends running an Archies shop. But there is something lacking in their lives. It is love.
Cupid strikes when the two meet Priya (Amrita Rao) and Preeti (Esha Deol) during a morning walk. While Pyare is smitten with Preeti, Mohan loses his heart to Priya.
The initial portions of the film captivate you.In a way PM is path-breaking in several ways and the effort is laudable.But after a great start, the film loses its grip when the two lead players fall in love. The story stagnates for some time, but gathers momentum once Boman enters the scene.The second half is better than the first.But the length of the second half dilutes the impact to an extent. Besides, the film lacks a strong musical score to compliment the goings-on.Cinematography is outstanding. The stunts, towards the climax mainly, are expertly executed.
Both Viveik and Fardeen are seasoned performers and they don’t disappoint you one bit. Vivek impresses more in the second half, while Fardeen is, like always likeable. Esha and Amrita are okay .Boman is easily one of the highlight...
Pyare Mohan is a decent entertainer and not as bad as critics have projected it to be! A film that aims at entertaining, it serves its purpose competently!
