Quantico has the punch !

What drove my interest towards Quantico was Priyanka Chopra. It started to ring bells in my mind when I realised that one of my favourite actresses was getting a lead role in a crime thriller! First ever Bollywood star to get so much of Hollywood screen time, PC starrer Quantico is a roller coaster ride which catches the eye of its audience in grandeur.

The plot starts with a 9/11 prototype attack at Grand Central, USA   with Alex Parrish(Priyanka Chopra) finding herself on the ruins. She is an FBI trainee and is summoned to interrogation on her links with the terrorist attacks. She is inadvertently convicted of the charges and turns herself a fugitive. The serial showcases her struggle against her atrocious fate and her indomitable courage and motivation to prove herself not guilty.

The cast is very well balanced with every character playing a significant role in leading or deceiving the audience. It mostly comprises of Alex’s peers while her training in Quantico, Virginia. Whether it is her room mate Shelby or her boyfriend Ryan or the Amin sisters, the cast forms an emotional bonding with the audience. The show sometimes flows roughly and a complicated plot makes it difficult for the audience to follow the sequences. It runs on the strategy of showing Parrish’s present struggle against the law along with flashbacks of her time at Quantico and the varied impacts she made among her mates that left an insider to cast such a vicious trap upon her.

The show highlights Alex’s precision, confidence, courage and commitment as a FBI trainee. Her speak-on-your-face sort of attitude won her fans and enemies which comes back real time to haunt her.

It shows the various exercises and mock drills that a FBI agent has to go through in real life. The show does a great job in making it appear as a complex crime world where your closest mate may appear to be your biggest enemy. It rightly showcases the life of a FBI agent and the mental and physical struggles one has to go through. The suspense keeps me rooted for every episode and the twisted plot leaves no room for predictions. What I dislike is that the show becomes mundane with its theme at times. It becomes difficult to follow the story or even relate different incidents together to get the whole picture.

This is otherwise an intense terrorism thriller which I would recommend everyone to give a try.
