It is apt commentary on (central) suburban life in Mumbai, that a shopping mall filled with 45 yr olds struggling to get onto the escalator and 5 yr olds running around screaming Mummy glass nu lift che!! has become a hep place to hang out. Jesus.
A few plus points, though..(before I start my cynical tirade)
An excellent multiplex: Terrific sound, imaginative interiors (neon seat and row numbers, soft drink holders), excellent seating, reasonable canteen. The choice of movies could have been better, but then all multiplexes in Mumbai are the same.
A few good stores : I reccomend the Casio showroom, Planet M, the Bata showroom, and the Pizza Hut
The odd good looking girl : Aye, eye candy does pop out once in a while!!!!
An excellent parking system
However, minus points :
Many many noisy, crowded outlets : Jammin is like an air conditioned local train in ahmedabad, with blaring music and garish lighting. all the eateries around the multiplex are too small to occupy the weekend crowds. Big bazaar is atrocious!! Poor service, huge crowds and unruly customers make for a nightmarish shopping experience
The people, the people : what can I say..I dont wanna offend anyone. But truly, the most irritating motley of humans I have ever had the misfortune to witness has been at r Mall, with alarming regularity, I might add!
Where is the pub!!! For petes sake, WHEN will a pub or a disc see the light of day in north central mumbai? I have waited 27 long years. will probably wait for ever.
A good beginning for R Mall, but too congested, too noisy, and to vulgar. Much prefer Nirmal Lifestyles, actually...but it should get a multiplex.
Cheers, all...temme what you think!!
