An Extraordinary love story that is forgettable

Yash Chopra had a press release statement earlier this year which read something like this..

Come December 12th, Everything comes to a Standstill! and why not...

Adi Chopra coming back to direction after 8 years

SRK the lucky mascot is back. The trailers promised such a lot, it showed SRK as never before...

Come Dec 12, I couldn’t wait to get in to the theatre, and once in the theatre for the movie to start.. what followed, is a disappointment. My most anticipated movie of the year doesn’t live up, it just doesn’t click!

The tightly guided story, which the director keeps emphasis through Vinay Phatak’s character where in he keeps saying in the movie "oye yaara yeh kaahani toh RAB likh raha hai" is about a common man, who marries this girl in an uncommon situation and she and him both have to deal with it! Tanni’s character played very well and confidently by anuksha is not her bubbly self anymore and can’t love! whereas Suri character falls head over heels for TAANI!

So to get her to love him, he decides to become the filmy version of RAJ as he feels that the only way to win in LOVE is to be an interesting version of yourself!

So now, its the Enternal Romantic Hero "RAJ" against the Ordinary Common Man "SURI" both played effortlessly by SRK!! Who gets TANNI? forms the remainder of the movie...

Frankly speaking... Adi please don’t blame RAB for such a storyline... If this is RAB ne likhe kahani, then I guess RAB is just not good at it!

There are some serious flaws in the movie, on one hand the director asks us to be dumb enough to belive that TANNI couldn’t recognize RAJ from SURI because of the makeover and on the other hand he wants the audience to be intelligent enough to understand SURI’s love for TANNI through the eyes of RAJ!

*Special mention about SRK, this man holds the movie together. SRK as SURI is the not only brilliant, but OUTSTANDING! and surely makes you love him! The scene in which he leaves TANNI his phone number and then thinks of keeping a rose along with it only to change his mind lateris TOP DRAWER stuff from Shahrukh!

On the whole the movie lacks the charsima of an Aditya Chopra Flim, The Basic Story Telling goes amiss in the second half, high melodrama, lots of forced punjabi humor kills it!
