Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi - seems like a translation of the proverb "Marriages are made in heaven."
The concept was true to the real sense but the projection of the same was not beyond expectation atleast from a Yash Raj movie. The goodness of the movie came from a fresh and bubbly face in the form of Taniji and the way SRK has been made up as Mr. Sahaye. He has done justice to the character unlike his split personality Raj-Naam To Suna Hoga?
Well at times Shah Rukh did forget that it is long time since his movie Darr released where he could stammer and get aplauses from the audience. There were certain lapses from his end while playing the character as Raj and definitely a let down to the Raj in DDLJ. Cinemas are supposed to be realistic reflecting real life. Yes we can accept fantasies like Ajooba and Love Story 2050 but then only to certain extent. May be thats why most realistic movies have been able to bag big awards and box office attention unlike the fantasy ones.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi also has a tinge of unrealistic approach like Taniji not being able to differentiate between Raj and Sahaye till the end of the movie even though they spent most of the time together and when did Mr. Sahaye get time to attend Punjab Power meetings when he was busy roaming about with taniji and attending dance classes all the while. Wow I need a job like that.
The movie was expected to be more intense on the emotional front as the plot starts. But surprisingly most of the times the reaction of Taniji changes without much transition curve in between which seems like someone needs more intense practice in acting.
And Of course if there were marks in the costume of the dancing jodi then how did Mrs and Mr Sahaye win the competiton even though they repeated the same tune of the short listing round. Indian Idol should learn something from this and not be stringent on the costumes, looks and choreography and stuff while singing.
Songs, costume and choice of place was good enough to cover up certain lapses in King Khan movie.
Overall it is a weekend movie to relax yourself for sometime.
