WHAT IS THE ARK ?

WHAT IS THE ARK

DEATH MADE LAZARUS SOUND IN FAITH, SO RAIDERS MADE ADVENTURE FILMS HARD TO RECREATE.

Let me start with the title which actually attracted me to the theater in the first place, title is very important for any film or a novel to arouse your interest.

Moses after exodus prayed to GOD to seperate him and his brother Aaron from the tribes of Israel, this is the reason the promised land and the Ark was lost to the children of Israel. King Talut who was a prophet said if you obey me, GOD will give back the ARK to the children of Israel, the Ark has the power to defeat any army of this world. There was disobedience as always. This is the reason the Ark got lost. This is no myth but a fact.

STEVEN SPEILBERG AND GEORGE LUCAS aptly named the film seekers of the lost Ark, this film gave speilberg the money and the experience to make the later films and a expert in special effects and life to the dead Jurassic Park.

This film has pure stunts, giving us all the adventure and a load of loveable acting by many characters of this film, Paul Freeman, Ford, Wolf Kahler all these actors along with the plot made this film a non-stop joy ride, I lost count of how many films have copied the scenes of this wonderful film, the rolling boulder shot I saw in over 100 films, the truck chase stunts are copied many times in our hindi films, the fight scene in the Egyptian market are good for copies in other movies.

Lost Ark won awards and so much money a modern day search for the real ARK can be financed with the money earned by this film, right now I know the ARK is in the city of SAM bin NOAH, the other name of the city is AZAL , the person associated with the city whose father was Yakhtan.

Anyway Archealogist, Indiana Jones is hired by US Government in 1930’s to acquire the ARK before the nazis lay their hands on it, the plot is loose but the adventure and ride is the most fun in this movie, unlimited joy is the chase by all parties outwitting each other, Germans, French, and the American, the secrecy, the snakes, the pace of the events, the leather jacket, the fedora hat a trademark of Indiana Jones established a trademark and franchise in its name after the fame of this classic movie.

SOME MERCHANDISE YOU COULD BUY IS AS FOLLOWS :-

fur-felt fedora , brown leather jackets, leather bullwhip, Indiana Jones Khyber bowie knife,   Indiana Jones video games,   Indiana Jones novels, Soundtracks, replica Hovitos fertility idol,   Indiana Jones pinball machine, many other smaller random items (figures, books, T-shirts)

ALL THIS IS NOT AVAILABLE IN INDIA, BUT IT IS ON ITS WAY.

I drink tea in a mug with the Indiana Jones printed on it, I have seen people carry bags with this mark, there came 2 sequels after this trend setting film, they were Temple of Doom and Last Crusade, there were no computer generated graphics in this film, it was pure human and mechanical stunts and effects, the acting was one high score of this film, I felt the end was a bit anti climax and it was against the story itself, it nullified the meaning of the full chase and the meaning of finding the Ark.

I liked the struggle between Dr.Rene Belloq and Indiana Jones, they meet in the bar of Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) in Nepal and they are always after each other I used to come out of the theater and go straight away to my gym and do a round of bench press to channel the excess energy generated in my mind and body with the pace of the film. The puches were rough, the ride was rough, the humor was ever present and the filming quality was absolutely great.Ronald Lacey plays the baddie who could evoke few shivers.

I usually see movies recommended by others, because I value my money more higher than movies, but this movie I saw the first day first show just was very curios about the mention of ARK in the name of the movie, the character of SALAH was apt and very loveable with loads of fun and humor happenning around him.

All details in a Camera frame like formulas written on the black board, the class rooms, the skeletons, the guns, the trucks do lend authenticity to this period film. Harrison Ford looked wonderful. there was a focused plot and quirkier characters, compelling and amazing, an edge of your seat thrill ride that won’t fail to entertain. I think that Raiders did an excellent job at mixing together the right elements with the story and sustaining great flow for the physical scenes, The movie remains watchable, and re-watchable.

My friends have seen this movie repeatedly over the years and never grow tired of it. The movie entertains us on so many levels. The cinematography, musical score, the characters all breathe life into the movie so well John Williams did a good job. Karen Allen looked superb and she was as dry in her dialogues as Harrison Ford himself, the chemistry between them was good, it was a admirable fit, but alas they could not make more films togather.I wish action movies today were as well-directed, well-shot as this one. Steven Spielberg after this film joined the talented club of people like Martin Scorsese, Orson Welles.

Yo Well of the Souls was dangerous but Indiana Jones came out did not he ????
