This movie takes a page from O Henrys but it does acknowledges it too.
Lesson#1 Aishwariya CAN act.
Lesson#2 movies without song and dance dont make box offices but then how many people remeber to sit with their bheja in their khopri while watching hindi movies anyways.
We are all Pavlovs dogs and when it come to bollywood we have the reflex of cutting our brain some slack..........perhaps the reason is we have so little excitement in our daily monotonous life that all we want to see is our prettiest dreams enacted by the best looking faces (and bodies too).
So if you are looking at out-of-the-blue song and dance party this is not for you. This is about real life, real people with real obligations but a good heart and true love. Such stories are timeless and in the hands of a ace director like Rituparno it is magic. Camera is splendid.........Note: it does not require any shred of special effects to make a movie memorable. This movie has strong images that DOES A LOT of talking.
And a reality check........this is India........so forget sending any quality material to Oscars.......rather we would love to show off the entire world.........our best smelling piece of crap.
