Firstly, let me get a few things out. Do NOT expect to see anything said on the lyrics of the song because I dont understand Hindi. However, minor setbacks like that never stop me from enjoying good music and reviewing on it!
The reason I checked out the music from raaga.com is because I read some reviews and it sounded like my type of music(which is good music). So, basically, my review is solely based on the rhythm, music and melody.
Another thing is that this is not my first review at mouthshut but it is my first review under this ID. Before this, my ID was praveenathescorpio (i can see you going ohhhh) and I had to change my ID lately coz of reasons I shall just keep to myself. Now, lets get down to the review, shall we??? =======================================================
mathura nagarpati
The first few subahas were enough for me to immediately take a liking to this song!!! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!!! The vocals are quite good and I like the rhythm and as you already know, I cant comment on the https://lyrics... The solo singing is better than the chorus, I think and well, I give it a rating of 4.75/5 !!!
piya tora aisa abhiman SHUBDA MUGDAL
HOW I WISH I UNDERSTAND HINDI!!!!!!! I dont just love this song, I am OBSESSED with it. The melody is sooo beautiful.... The poetry : I didnt get a single word of it (duh) but I really like the way it was said, so calm and tense and meaningful. (Which reminds me, I have written a review on veer zaara and you can find out for yourself how much I disliked Yash Chopras awful peotry reading in that kyun hawa song) Rating for this song is 5/5
raha dekhe
OK. Pretty good, faster than the song I commented on above and decent enough for me to listen like a hundred times... rating, I bestow 4.5/5
alkele hum nadiya kinare
Slow once again... I liked the song well enough to have it in my playlist and it is ok. Vocals are nothing to jump up and down about but acceptable rating 4.25/5
jug jiye
HUh??? I dont like this song too much. FOr some reason unknown to mankind ( just tolerate the exaggerations), I found this track reallyy boring... (whatt??? dont look at me like that!!!) rating...... 2.5/5
piya tora kaisa abhiman hari haran
It is very different from the Shubda Mugdal version and for me at least, I cannot decide which I like better. Each has its own beauty. Shubdas version spoke volumes about her vocal prowess. Hariharans was acceptable but just SOMETHING about his singing that REALLY reflected the emotion and I just dont know how to put it!!! Its a matter of theory clashing against reality for me, I suppose. Theorically, I will say that I like Shubdas singing better but when I am listening to Hariharans singing, I never fail to be surprised!!! Rating, obviously is 5/5
hamari galiyan hoke aana
My LEAST liked song!!! The tune is so repeated and the clapping doesnt fit... As for the vocals, my school choir team (which is so good it went to the nationals) can sing tons better than the vocalists!!! rating 2/5
hamari galiyan hoke aana (SAD)
A little better than the previous version, thank goodness but STILL very boring.... It isnt even sad to begin with!!! rating 2.3/5 =======================================================
Soooooo, thats it. The first Praveenathepraveena review. Make sure you leave a comment, kay??? Lack of details and lack of lyric analysis is deeply apologised for. When I heard the music, I knew that I MUST write a review, just MUST, MUST, MUST!!!!!!
Oh yes, and do tell me, do I use too much exclamation marks???!!!!! Cant help it, just feel the need to stress my point!!!
And about my new ID, do you think I should include a link (in my profile) to my old ID so that anyone who wants to can also check out my other reviews??? Or should I just repost those reviews under this ID and plagarize myself???
Wow, if you have read THIS far, you must REALLY have a tolerance for exclamation marks!!!!!!
Pros : uh, everything else apart from the cons!!!
Cons: the exclamation marks in my review and hamari galiyen hoke aana
see you in the comments section!!!!!
