Currently, Rajahmundry airport has few small jet flights which connect only to few cities within the State. The flight is regularly operational every week with small flights only because of its economic prosperity and regular political events.
Though the airport is not one of the highest in mobility in this region but still the infrastructure and maintenance of the airport is commanding. The terminal is pretty spacious enough to accommodate the needs.
The only issue is that because of increase in business prospects in this region, travelling frequency has increased a lot with increase in number of passengers as well. But with that increase, airport need to be expanded and the number of flights need to be increased. Otherwise, chaos will increase like anything.
In future, prospect, this airport will increase in the frequency of number of passengers travelling from this part of India and hence there is a need to develop further to meet the future needs.
