Jatin the true phenomena

Jatin entered mumbai from punjab to be selected by great mehboob to debut in AURAT .

HE WAS NOTICED QUICKLY BY TALENTED MAKERS like

YASH CHOPRA who cast him in **ittefaq ** with nanda playing a murderess he was too good in the mother of indian thrillers, here he proved his versatility in a songless movie as he plays the victim to nandas femme fataleand hemant kumarin KHAMOSHI opposite waheeda,

then **chetan anand** cast him in **AAKHRI KHAT** with indrani mukerjee and a great experimental classic was created with a child who stole the show but khanna was not eclipsed,

followed baharon ke sapne and mehboob ki mehndi, he played a labourer in one and a muslim nawab in the other immaculately, but it wa samantas **aradhana **in 69 which made him a phenomena in bollywood which no one has ever been able to reprise since, followed by **daag.

he then did **KATI PATANG** with asha, a movie on widowhood , with shakti samanta again creating some great movies with the master director who became his godfather .

my favourite songs are all from this movie but

ye sham mastani madhosh kiye jaye

is a lesson for picturisation in romantic songs  to makers as the camera, scenery, rhythm of the song are perfect along with the 2 lead actors   gestures and expressions which reflects purity of emotion in love

but his great camaraderie with mumtaz had begun with **do raste, **a superhit with

with balraj on the same theme as  bagban, followed by

**DUSHMAN **, this is unique too as he plays a truck driver who kills meenas husband to be sentenced to support the family as dushman chacha,

**SACHA JHOTA**, WHERE HE PLAYS A DOUBLE ROLE IN MANMOHAN DESAIS great thriller shows he can do negative action roles as roti and apna desh demonstrate the same, but they are best in

**AAP KI KASM

**a movie where hes pitted against sanjeev in a unique subject on paranoid husbands and cheating wives .

**PREM KAHANI**

with shashi and vinod khanna he plays a independence fighter in a love triangle shining together in the raj khosla classic .

AND BOTH ARE MULTISTARRERS YET HE IS VERY COMFORTABLE IN THE MIDST OF THIS TALENTED COMPANY .

rajesh is a very gifted actor who uses expressions more then his voice to portray his characters but when it comes to dialogue delivery watch him deliver the last speeches in **aradhna and DAAG** and he can easily beat any vocalist .

then** NAMAKHARAM** was conceived by hrishida -gulzar from becket and he plays the leftist leader with amitab in their last movie with rekha and simi in one of the best ever on indian screen, a pity as the duo never worked together again, but he wins the show easily as the song pours out from the screen

he stole all the tears as well as eclipsing big b in the hrishida classic, anand is a milestone in indian cinema and it always will be as here rajesh is the character not a star and its his ultimate triumph as he smiles and sings and then groans in genuine pain, you are totally convinced unlike srk in kal ho na ho where the director was responsible for blunders in the portrayal of a dying man .

the movie was first offered to shashi who refused it .

**amar prem

a** movie which is immortal with pushpa and anand babu as are the songs

chingari koi barke

as bollywood entered  a new phase of maturity as its literate script balances with the characters grey streaks in perfection with rd burmans best ever score

**avishkaar

**an art movie on matrimony in modern mumbai to rival metro of today as rajesh plays the wife beating kkmenon with sharmila in a great cerebral basu battacharya masterpiece

SAFAR

is a memorable triangle with him playing a dying painter with sharmila as the doctor who marries firoz to keep him happy .

tyaag, choti bahu with sharmila  and train , joro ka gulam  with nanda were hits too,

then came** bawarchi and anuraag**, he broke the stereotypes and played a common man without a heroine or singing romantic songs, he then took hema for a bikre ride in ANDAZ which enthralled the nation as did their **prem nagar**, as did his  movies HAATHI MERE SAATHI and **mere jeevan saathi** with tanuja,

can anyone forget kishores

he was involved with anju mahendru but suddenly bobby with dimple hit him with infatuation and the superstar dumped poor anju to marry dimple to shock  the nation,

then it was down the hill as even **ajnabi** couldnt save him as  chaila babu, ashiq hoon baharon ka , chalta purza flopped badly.

**prem bandan** and anchal [rekha -rakhi-moshmi ]and **red rose** moulded from a southern classic as a serial killer with poonam are good but his best is with hema in **palko ki chao me** where he plays a postman, but their **mehbooba** is not enchanting .

his revival came with SHABANA, smita, HEMA, and tina who he fell in love with as well

by now he was fed up  after alag alag was rejected and also dimple refused to  divorce him and tina wanted a marriage so she broke up with him breaking his heart too .

its also a fact that indian cinema went into decline in 80s with the superfluous and camp movies of amitabh and jetendra prancing around making fools of the audience and bollywood globally and there was no space left for sanjeevs or rajesh .

he came back in rishis A AB LAUT CHALEN, his last movie to date .

he went into politics and he was sucessful, his daughter twinkle was an utter failure but unlike others he didnt push her and got her married .amen

as I cant stand esha abishek or tushar

can their parents spare us too

HE WON 4 FILMFARES, ONE LESS THEN SRK AND 3 LESS THEN DILIP

please come back as im fed up of the present oldies messing up hindi screen but in an amar prem or avtar not nishabd

in an interview hema was asked by filmfare to name her favourite actors and she said sanjeev and rajesh, in the same way as she declares that shole can never be remade, I think dream girl should act with him, lets wait for the miracle to happen .

he defines a unique era in 70s where diversity and expressive subtlety in acting rule rather then crass overacting , he was identified with kishores voice and  they are immortal together.

i hope hes happy as he made a lot of people very happy with his artistic gift
