Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (Govt Engineering College), Kottayam , Kerala is the first Educational Institution established in memory of our late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Situated at a distance of 14 kms from Kottayam town, the college offers BTech courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering and one Post Graduate course in MCA.
The college has a campus area of 92 acres. All departments have separate blocks , with facilities like Well established library, lab facilities and very efficient faculty. The college also has one of the spacious and the largest Libraries in case of collection of books.
The admission to the college is done entirely on the basis of the Ranks obtained in the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Govt of Kerala.
Extra Curricular Activities : Students get chance to be involved in the following activities - NSS, ISTE, CGPC (career guidance and placement cell), Science Club, Nature Club and many more. The students has bought lauresl to the college by bagging prizes in variuos events organized by the other colleges in Keraal and Outside Kerala.
The college is one of the best on case of Facility and Faculties. The students also are well qualified and get into well established companies through campus placements.
PLACEMENTS : Companies that visited the campus include WIPRO, HCL Technologies, HCL InfoTech, NAM, NEST Technologies, AMI. The Placement Cell has also helped the students to get placed in ACCENTURE, SASKEN, IGATE, IDEA, VSNL, HEXAWARE, US Software, IBS, HUAWEI etc...
