I started watching the ramayan on ndtv from the ram vanvaas episode and since then i’ve never missed a single episode . In fact i regret not watching it from the begining. The cast is wonderful . Especially the new sita (debina) is wonderful she has potrayed sita’s character as a strong, aggressive and elegant one . She perfectly suites the image of goddess sita.ankit arora as lakshman is great. His eyes and his expressions make him look like a true shesh nag(lakshman was an incarnation of shesh nag) . He looks really adorable. The new ram (gurmeet) is far better than arun govil . Arun govil’s looks , physiqe, and expressions were a total contradiction to lord ram’s image.
I think casting arun govil as ram was the biggest blunder ever made. Casting gurmeet as ram was a perfect decision. The new hanuman looks real. He is young and energetic. I think this new hanuman is much better than dara singh. Although dara singh was the only one whom i liked in the old ramayan .the new ramayan helped me clear a lot many conceps like for example the vadh of bali by ram . I always thaught that it was wrong on ram’s part to kill bali the way he did. But after watching the new ramayan , i now know that bali deserved the punishment given to him by lord ram . It served him right.
All i have to say is that the new ramayan has been wonderfully made and is flawless. It has changed my views about the real ramayan . I confess that after watching the old ramayan, I had lost my respect for shree ram which i have regained after watching the new ramayan.The ndtv ramayan, thus means a lot to me. Its a total success. If it can change a person’s views so strongly then would it not be right to say that its a hit!!!
