I think , many things have been written on this movie and probably I am one of those late comers who might once again talk a few good things about the same !
But yet I cant really help myself from doing that .......... for the simple reason that after a long time , it is a movie that makes u think .......
movies that make u think are the ones who have amazing impact !
i would not go into individual characters ( a lot of things have been talked about the same , be it amir , soha and the whole group ......... ) , but what really strikes in the movie are as follows
- Dare to Dream and Dare to Follow the same ---------- An american gal , having a deep impact with the deeds of her ’’heroes’’ ( Bhagatsingh, Azad & Rajguru ) does everything to pursue her ’’passion’’ ..........
This was the most brilliant idea that hit me ........may be because of my own middleclass thinking or background or may be probably for years together we - the youths in india have not thought about any careers apart from medicine and engineering !!
We all have read about Indian freedom struggle, the French revolution and the Russian revolution ! We all know about Mazini, Garibaldi n all of them ............. but rarely do we make it a point to study & understand them as icons of political / sociological struggle !!
It is this aspect of RDB I feel to be the best !
- THe movie is reallistic ..... it would have been simply possible for the director to keep al our heroes - amir and team alive , may be they could have surrendered to police or something like that !
But they being killed at the end , seems more relevant message to me ! I dont think that th to increase the sympathy towards the character but for the
simple fact that social changes / critical changes in the society need someone to spill their blood !! no changes happen without sacrifices ( in any form ) ...
All this makes the movie a realistic one and hence creates a long lasting impression !
- Youth is a power and it is a power which needs a proper channelisation ! We see this power being wasted in the endless places but at the same time , we always see it being used in the best possible manner when there is a reason to be !!
it is a lesson to all the political fraternity, socio-cultural leaders and all the veterans who speak negatively about the young generation --- it simply is a case that we do not a ’’passionate reason’’ to live with ........ give us the same , give us a set up of a political / sociological ideology and a lasting leadership , we can make this country the best place to be !!
THis movie does not seem to be one sided i.e. a typical angry young man types -- it rather appears to be balanced and tries to analyse the reasons of presence of certain vices like corruption, directionless attitude amongst the current generation !
The reasons are within us and these r the precise things which need to be eradicated .... thats the message which I carry home !
4.The plot is fantastic , n music is simply amazing !!
Amongst the other things, chants of gurubani , the set up of golden temple and simple transactions in the straight forward characters make this movie an uncomplicated and joyous thing to watch !!
The music and overall set up creates a lasting thought in the mind of the viewer
In all this movie captures the spirit of youth and makes u think !
Could not help watching this movie twice and it certainly deserves a good place amongst the contemporary Indian cinema !
