<-- Paint It Yellow--> Quite Impressive

Hype can turnout to be a disappointment most of the times in case of Indian movies.Very rarely movies that comeup with hype satisfy the needs of the viewer, but sometimes it does and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s’’Rang De Basanti proves to be in that positive cadre.

Its a director’s film rather than the biggie Aamir Khan’s film. But certainly Aamir khan remains the soul of the movie. The movie has a very few dose of flaws and a eccentric narration beautifully portrayed with fun, emotion, patriotism, sorrow and almost everything that an entertainer should have. Not only RDB succeeds as an entertainer but certainly is very thought provoking.

Performances are just too good to make out flaws.Aamir Khan after ’’Mangal Pandey’’ comes up with youth and freshness especially the scenes with Alice. The scene he bursts out to tears in front of Alice is a special mention. What can we say about such a versatile actor? The next in the list is Siddharth(The Denim-Ray Ban Guy). The reason to put his name immediately after Aamir is the character he has got in that movie. The ’’Boys’’ lead has come up a very long way.And the list is very long with performances just too good.Kunal kapor, Sharman Joshi, Atul kulkarni, Soha Ali Khan, Madhavan and last but not the least Alice.Everyone leaves a mark in your heart at the end of the film.

The script and Screenplay are too strong that never lets your eyes off the screen and an awesome cinematography keeps your mood in track of the movie.A.R.Rahman, returns with his contemporary music and the songs are very well-picturized.Especially ’’Khalbali’’, ’’Roobaroo’’, ’’Tu Bin bataye’’.A special note should be made about the Background score that is really creative. When the movie starts and the martyrs are hung, in a sepia tone, one would expect a long harmony and chorus or a battle drum to run at the back. But when the the scene is backed by a metal guitar rocking at the back, there is a new sense of feel, that lits up the film.Very creative!!!

The Sepia Sequences of matrydom gradually and carefully stuck with modernized visions is not the newest of ideas but certainly the best way of making the idea come to life. The tint of jallianwala bagh is one new thing to Indian Cinema. The scenes of murder of the British in Old India and the metaphor in Modern India is a treat to watch.

The controversy lies at the end of the film. Many people are not satisfied with the film ends.Does the end suit the film.Personally I thought the end coudn’t have been better. What better end can be thought of?.

’’Rang De Basanti’’ is a color festival with shades of a few prior movies, but coloring your heart and mind with fun, emotions, patriotism and provoke your thoughts for sense and sensibility. A Must Watch
