Hi Guyz,
Yesterday night, after all those hustle, tussle and muscle to get into the theater, I went to see Rang De Basanti.
So before I write anything, I must say people should watch any movie before the review and feedback hit into the ears.
This is necessary to see movie with a neutral expectation.
Yes! I started watching movie with the enormous expectation that it has to be a classic since the great review had come from group.
Anyways the first half is full of light moments with all those activities around Delhi University.
I had fun and songs were adding the flavor to story (However I wish the camera work should be grand some while shoot those great songs)
The first song Paathshala was shoot in a jiffy with running camera work. Probably director wanted it to be a pace maker for the movie :-v
However as the movie was progressing, I felt Director tried hard to give movie an ultra cool look. The character that were portrait seems over the top at times because of this.
Other thing irritated me that director was trying to switch the story back and forth with freedom fighter tale to current generation enacting in documentary film.
I bewildered that why he needed to show so many events of that era which had been told in so many movies.
He could have added more content otherwise in story.
Even I am not sure whether it was director creation to co-relate the thing or Sue imagination or Sue picturization of movie or something else.
As it went on for some time, Intermission came with story hardly being moved.
Ist half had full of light moments but since it has hardly any substance in terms of story, I felt lot to be desired from movie as per feedbacks.
Anyway second half has some story to move and some good songs (really loved the timing of Roobooroo song).
Also climax I feel was more apt spreading jingoism as required.
Cast performances were great…especially Atul kulkarni and Amir Khan.
Sidharth role was pretty well sketched and he did good job in carrying frustrating emotions through his eyes. However his dialogue delivery was not that OK.
Rest of the casts were OK.
Overall movie did it to me. I was moved by it…Got fanatic about singing songs after reaching to home.
Also I hum all the way “Sue!!! kar mere man ko kiya tune kya isshara” :-)
For me, it was worth a watch.
