My Take ...!!

Hi all..... I have watched this Immensely Directionless piece of cinema Rang De Basanti (RDB) last nite....N trust me I was worried, confused and amazed after that....!!

India’s Rich cultural history has been the direction for directors n producers since long time .....they often show it in one way or the other....

Some try to go through the actuals and some try to be on the surface only.....Rang De Basanti is a effort below average where Director has shown how foreign citizen’s influenced so much by our history that they can motivate our own Young Guns....!! LOL....!!

How Pathetic is show that we don’t even care today where we belong to, where are our roots are.....what values us ....we are a complicate country and things work in a different if not very different way in India.... I love my soil but that doesn’t mean that I love corruption, increasing population, Haywire going society...but Yes I love the way we are progressing .... I love the way youth of my country casting India in a new way.... and yes I know and love our history....!!

The only strong point of RDB is the message they have given in a broad and loud way .... You Cannot Change the GODDAMM CRAZY System but you can only think of a success only by becoming a part of it..... Please for Christ Sake don’t crib all the time that India lacks this .... this is not working ..... tht is not working.....Go get urself a job, become something (get into the system) and after that don’t fill ur pockets but do the JOB....!!

Apart from above and few good scenes I don’t find ne good reason to watch RDB....!! I am differing here from a lot...i know ;-))

Let’s take it one by one..... Story .... aah.... what have u done Mr. Director and Writer....what you guys tried to show....A Film on Direction less youth...A Short Film on the Freedom fight involving Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad....or a story about the current Indian Bureaucracy....I mean I didn’t find what was it and if I ask people who liked it they’ll say ’’It is a movie on How Youth realises the importance of our History and change’s the Present...!!’’ Nah.. I am not ready to take that.... Story goes all the way from London to Delhi to Punjab to even Lahore of 1925...!!

Story doesn’t grip the cinema goer... one can predict the proceedings... and this is not good-direction.....Masti-Dhamaal from college days to seriousness about country and that’s too motivated by a foriegner....hmmm not for me to take....again the turning point I can say is Death of their friend but not even a single youth can stir or dare to stir the system so much..... and not even they stirred it ... they die what they think that is for country or their friend but their own friend will be more happy if they could have avoided this Chaos and tried to change their own crazy lifes , given themselves a direction and contributed to India which their own friend was telling them in the whole movie.... they realized it in the end but what the hell they did.... Killed Defense minister, Radio-Broadcast....Bullshittt....!!

Actors...one by one... Aamir Khan... Oh sir please change ur methods now if not for you then for the sake of cinema goers.....I know you are (were infact..!!) price charming...but the golden days are gone.... Man you don’t even look like a 10 years passed out from College... and you are mingling with a 20 odd from UK... LOl..... try to be in roles like Ajay Devgan ... Mature, strong and appealing.... Aamir has done those kinda roles ... Like Sarfarosh (HAT’s Off to this ..!) thus I don’t understand why is he going all the way to become the Society-Stirrer.....see mangal Pandey and now this one..!! still he is a good good actor and done well here in RDB ...only crib I am having is that he should not have taken these kinda roles....!!

Others specially Kunal kapoor, soha ali khan, Karan singhania have done really well if I imagine their current capabilities.....!! Madhavan is fine here as well and so is Atul Kulkarni.....!!

Let’s come to other things’ ..... and this is not that bad as Story.... Light comic scene’s.....good, fitting jokes made it a OK one to watch for...Dialogues like ’’Ek Paer Past me aur Ek Future me tabhi to hum aaj par ’’ . Music is awesome and hat’s off to AR Rehman for this.... Magician is back and with a Bang as well..... The initial song really Rocks.... and in a big way.....!!

Now some tough remarks on RDB .... Aamir aka DJ aka Dil Jeet told Sue aka Firangi Bandi that he don’t wanna go out of college days to the society because ’’DJ ki College me kuch Aukaat Hai’’   WHAT !! ..... He is afraid to take his chances.... he is not ready to change..... why not... just enjoy life in college and dream on for society to become good is a better place ...!! Go out ......... and when he does ......he killed a minister , created a Chaos in Radio Station ...!! Bottomline...disturbed his life and his family’s life.....y to do all this.....and same goes for all of his friends...if they could have listened to Sue....the movie and things would have been much better.... and that I feel was the whole point for that beautiful looking girl from UK to come down all the way in TAXI to Radio station... !!!!!!

One more scene where Atul Kulkarni after a beating from his old party mates comes down to Hospital and shares a Ciggy with Karan Singhania.... aah... there is a saying which I follow... ’’U will not remember them when you enjoyed but you will die for them when you all together have taken a beating’’.....so true.....Atul’s was not involved in the group much before this scene but when he realized his true mates....he is there with them and he died with them....!! Nice Shot ......

All in all I can say is the movie does tell a message ... yes it does...!! but it is direction-less so no point .... It is on youth yes it is....but our youth is more unlike than what they have shown us....We are making our country a better place if not at a scorching pace then slowly.....very slowly...we are not afraid to take our chances to make our soil a better one..... we are making it really big (platforms’ may be different )...or atleast all of us are aspiring to make it big one day.... we are not afraid of the system any more and the system itself is changing.... so why to be afraid and do a non-sense ....Killing is not a solution here .... we are a tough tough society who has seen from Bits to Bullets to Bombs .... but take this that we came out of it and not once , twice but thousands of times.....we are from a land that have seen more blood than any one and still can we think of more... not me .... so there I ll say ------- Rang De Basanti ....u did disappointed me....!!!
