I thing the members have yet not become conscious
and aware of the few fundamental rights given to them
by the constitution. yes, I mean The Right to
Freedom of Speech and Expression.
How can I NOT say anything !
well, I feel RDB is just another movie that makes you
uncomfortable very comfortably and the a amount of
uncomfort given by the movie is equal to or less than
to what we are usually used to recieving and bearing.
the only thing that was worth praising in the movie
was the acknowledgement of the glorious freedom
movement in India by the Phirangis. and mind you it
says we need to have SUEs to tell us about our own
countrys past. shame on us.
as a citizen of india we need to understand the
feeling of stubborn refusal to surrender shown by
our heros at the time when they could just have been
the victim of the powers of the high and mighty (both
before and after indias independence).
The movie had a wonderful cinematography with the
ocassional linkages of present with the past.
Movie dekh ke ek baar to yahi lagta hai ki bahar nikal
ke sabko goli maar doon. but this is not the way it
should be done.
And we see what happens to the Satyendra Dubeys, who
are murdered only because they try take the lead to
end the corruption in the coutry. he, who was a
whistleblower, is but I dont see any of his followers.
maybe becoz everybody wants to do great things but no
body wants to die in the process. and whats the use if
you are not there to see and celebrate ur victory).
and this is no exeption in RDB. the team of our
outraged heros die in an operation of the force.
Though a lot of NGOs and natives of Gaya and Kanpur
brought out a procession but only with the intention
of politicising his murder.
Aise bolne ko to bahut kutch hai. but it makes sense
only when you do it. and doing is something which we
have always been strangers to.
The wonderfull efforts of the director go waste when
the youth fails to identify themselves witht the DJ,
sukkhi, anwar, etc. long after they have left the
theatre and in a discotheque with their friends.
the characters are real and are played to the
perfection but they desperately fail to keep that fire
burning in the audience once they leave the theatres.
The film has been a super duper hit commercially only
because of a large number of people readily available
to see and enjoy the so called their own like story.
neways...., the debate could go on and on.
But the fact of the matter is that RBD if not so
special a movie in the sense its not the first time
Bollywood has made this attempt to rekindle that fire
amongst us.
These movies are made to make us feel outraged till
the time we are glued to our seats.
and then we go home.
with due regards to RDB lovers.
