I think I shall give you some information about film first before talking about commercial of the movie. Here it is –

Director is Rakeysh Mehra who has given first Indian Hollywood film ’Aks’
Producer is UTV, an entertainment company which was engaged in making TV serials now ventured into Movies also.
Music
Music is given by Master A. R. Rehman. After huge success of ’’aati Kya Khandala’’, Aamir Khan has again given his voice for this film. There is good number given by Daler Mehndi also. I have not heard the music but the promos are good enough to catch attention. I am very sure that songs and music must be melodious.
Commercial 1 – Bike, Car & Dance
This commercial starts with 5 friends enjoying some drink. They all are together and making good fun. After that Alice appears on screen, i.e. alone looking at something. It gives impression of a great group and close friendship, but Alice might be a late entry into their group. Then suddenly they show a bike running with a Gypsy. It looks as if it is a race. The bike is really fast and sometime it is only on one tire. Finally bike rider takes a sharp turn to stop the bike. I missed a heart beat when I first saw the bike running. They show that Aamir is running that Bike, no wonder he had actually run the bike. You can recall - Aamir doing that dangerous scene for Ghulam.
This is being followed by an amazing Bhangara dance of Aamir Khan near Alice. The dance is so good; my eyes were just watching him only on the screen. He looks so passionate and smart. Alice is initially wondering what is happening then she starts enjoying. It may suggest that initially she may be hesitant with new people and their friendship but later on she enjoys new company. In background many people are dancing in moon light. The light is so wonderfully shown that it actually looks as if it is full moon night. Perhaps the best ever moon light scene ever on silver screen. In between they again, shown car-bike racing and there ends the commercial. I feel it is very good commercial. Enough to provoke curiosity to watch movie !!
Commercial 2 - Race & Fun
This commercial starts with a traditional horse race in rural area. Group of friends are watching Aamir Khan participating in a race. It looks very real when Aamir is riding horse in race. Finally he wins it. Then he spreads his arms. It reminds me of Big B (Bhadshah Khan) doing the same in Khuda Gawah at the end going towards Sridevi. Indeed a super scene. Even the poster of this scene looks wonderful.
After that we find those friends running and making their own race. It again gives us picture of fun. There after they are taking bath near a temple (Perhaps Golden Temple) and walking out of water. Commercial then reaches New Delhi near India Gate with those friends. We can again see bike and car racing in desert. These 3-4 scenes get repeated twice in commercial to make the commercial more interested. Second Commercial is having Alice enjoying the fun moments with the group. That suggests that she is happily included in the group. That is wonderful.
Both the commercial is having common ending - Boys jumping in the farm near Crop while a fighter jet is going over them. What that suggest... I leave it for you to ponder over. Let me know what you know about it ?
Impression of Movie at first look and initial information
What do you think while you read the Title “Rang De Basanti” ? After Mangal Pandey, Patriotism is attached with Aamir Khan. You suddenly recall Shahid Bhatatsingh. But this is a historic movie; it is a story of friends much like Dil Chahata Hai.
After Mangal Pandey, new look of Aamir Khan is cool. Eventhough he is now in his late 30s he looks cool. Well done Aamir, you look great!!
Only one girl in group, Soha Ali Khan, naturally she would be pairing with Aamir. Though it’s tough to digest but it is better than some of horrible pair of Bollywood of yesteryears like Rishi Kapoor and Urmila.
This is of course a movie like Dil Chahata Hai where friends must be moving to Northern India (Golden Temple, India Gate etc) during their college days.
Lines with title is - ’a generation awakens’, so it must be a light movie with social message also.
Let’s see how this movie comes out to be on January 20th.
