Nice place for a short trip

Ranthambar is a great place to be too. Atleast for wild life freaks and people who love peace, serenity and nature.

When I went to Ranthambar I stayed at the Tiger Moon Resort which was situated in the middle of the forest. But nothing to be afraid of. It has a pretty good security. Besides the theme of this resort is nature which makes you feel at every moment that you are in the forest. We used to leave at 7 am for the game (wildlife viewing) in a jeep. There was a guide and driver with us. These facilities can easily be availed by paying some additional amount to the hotel at the time of reservation. There were birds which were just superb and rare and unusual. The very sight of them makes one feel happy and cheerful. We were also lucky enough to spot a tiger with its cub. But one should not go to this place with any high expectations because it all depends on your luck. You might get to see a variety of species sometimes and sometimes you might not even see anything. To prevent this one must go to this place between november and march because this is time when you can see maximum species.

This place is not directly approachable by trains. It takes 3 hours from Jaippur by a car. Ranthambar was developed into a wildlife sanctuary before sometime. Earlier it was used as a hunting ground by the Jaipur kings which lead to the extinction of many species here. The best time to visit this place is between November and March when one can find varied migratory birds. I would also recommend warm clothes because this place is pretty chilly especially in winters. People in a bigger group are likely to enjoy. The more the merrier.
