Visited RK Salai branch for dinner. To start with, very ordinary ambience, not enough parking space at all. And though the menu looks so inviting, with so many new and unheard of items, there is no proper guidance or what to order from the waiter.
Started with murungakkai soup (no smell or taste of the drumstick in it), veg ball manchurian (this was ok), kothu parotta - waiter’s choice - this was ok but too overpriced and cannot be called a main course item, rather a stomach filler - and pollachi thengaipal kuzhambu - this saved the evening. arisi paruppu sdham - ordered this for the kids with visions of the legendary home made speciality - but was thoroughly disappointed.
After this, didnt have the patience to try any dessert. Either it was my bad day to choose the wrong items, or may be it is all a ad-driven hype.In any case, this place is ok for a once in a while visit; if I’m throwing a party and want to satisfy every one, I’d choose Sangeetha or Matsya any day.
