To rate or not to rate? That is the question. But this is one aspect in MS that is quite hassle free and most importantly it is a weapon in the hands of members that can make or break another members writing career in MS. And on the top of it-its just a click away!
Rating reviews should be as honest as possible, but then all the commands that are laid in the commandment are not always followed by us. Rating is a very creative thing to do. Not only can it help the writer to understand the follies and the good points about the review but also causes him/her to be careful about the same, the next time a review is written.
Ive noticed that many members just leave without rating. I don’t know why such a thing happens. Its ok if one doesnt have time at a certain instant. To coin a phrase, in my case, I open up all the latest reviews in a new window and then go offline so that I have a good look on the reviews and then I lie in a zone where my ratings are determined for a particular review.(Another reason of doing so is that internet bills also dont come heavy when I go offline, otherwise if I read all the reviews being online I would turn out to be a popper in future)
Rating is a tool for sublimation of a bad piece of writing. The most important thing to do before rating is to actually read the review. Rating was always personal and is still personal. But if the written material is comprehensive, informative, correct in vocabulary and is formatted in a nice way, I give no second thoughts on rating them a HR.
Yeah! Its not always necessary to be comprehensive particularly when the information is complete and also considering the fact that most of us dont have time to read long reviews. But then effective writing and style can always entice us to read the reviews even if they amount to great heights in terms of the length of review.
Rating a recommended just implies the fact that a particular review needs to be polished further. For instance, it needs better paragraphing, use bold or * italics , or it has to be more informative etc. recommended ** rating is a sign indicating that some extra effort has to be still endeavored by the writer. But in most cases this happens with a first time writer.
Rating a somewhat recommended is for reviews that are too short, in fact when reviews are written just to earn 5 points and they involve no effort at the minutest level and earn a SR . Such cases do happen with freshers but then the blame for writing such reviews have to be attributed to the writer because writing any thing doesnt make sense even to the nonsensical mates.
Rating a NR is mostly for provocative, absurd, vulgar reviews. There are times when dudes write a review to create hate-sentiment against something or someone, or they want to be sorted out to the hot review section by our well-known SORT technology. NR should be avoided if we can feel that true feelings are embodied in the writing, or if a review is posted under the wrong title. But of course there should be an effort to be more responsible next time. Also if one doesn’t agree to someones thoughts then also a NR can be given. Depends on personal calibration of rating reviews!
Writing reviews from heart with an urge to be noticed is always a dormant desire in every writers heart.(Doesnt essentially stands true for Star-writers) A writer should always be very responsible while writing reviews and should put true efforts in order to fetch HR
Members should be kind enough to rate accordingly. For blokes who commit mistakes, members should comment and make the boy feel good. As an old saying goes: Do not put down a fence till u knew why it was put up *.Similarly, do not rate a HR or NR ** just purely out of affection or prejudice without taking the pain to read the review at least once. I hope the above has cleared the doubts(if any) in the minds of MS-ians.
Now what are you waiting for? Be responsible, rate my review:)
