I have been a member here for just a few days. I have written a few reviews.which have been read.by more people that I had anticipated.
But I still dont understand the way the people rate the reviews. I think a change is definitely needed.because there is one flaw in rating system.
I write a review.other members read it and rate it. So far so good. But I never know why my review is rated as HR or as SR.or any other rating.
There are so many things which you can like or wouldnt like about a review.like
a) the writers style
b) content
c) presentation., etc.
Now how does the writer know what he is good at and where he needs to improve.
Rating helps other readers know which article is good or bad.but how does it help the writer.
I think that.it should be made mandatory that when u rate a review u add ur opinion as to why u rating it like that.
Sometimes the reviews might get rated as HR just because the reader agrees with the stand which ther writer has taken.
Sometime it might get NR because the reader does not agree with the stand.
Some people will definitely contradict what I am saying .but lets accept it.we all are humans.
If I give a poor rating to Dil Chata Hai.i really wonder how many members who have seen the movie would give me HR or even R rating.so dont I need to know.why my review is being rates as NR.
I belive that its time. that even writers were helped with their style by other members.
There are a few members who do this.and thats really appreciable.i have got a few opinions myself.but on majority basis.i would like to know why my article is being rated the way it is.even if its HR or NR.
Now I have to change this review a bit because its been mistaken by some members who have read it.
The questions which I am putting forward is not whether I have got R rating and why not HR. My question is very simple
Give me NR rating, u r perfectly in ur limits and rights to do if u dont like my review. But I belive I have a right to know why u r giving me that rating. It would help me and many other new comers on this site to know what to write, how to write and stuff like that.
For example if I am given HR rating I would like to know what made the member give me that rating- my style, my presentation, content? What?
Same applies for getting any other rating.
So it is very essential to leave an opinion so that the writer will know what he or she should or shouldnt do.
It seems as if all members are coming out with reviews as to how they give ratings. Now either one has to go through all the reviews or has to refer to the review written by that member when he gets some rating.
Why not just write a sentence or two and give the writer some advice as to how he can improve it further.
Currently if I am not wrong only 10-20% of the members who read a review will leave an opinion after rating it.
I think that percentage should go above 50%. That will do a lot of good to the writers especially the ones who are new.
