Rating Reviews on MS. Well this concept has no set rule or guidelines. Rating a review entirely depends on an individual as to his understanding of the article and interest. But giving a rating to any article makes the writer write better and probably creates interest for him, but the only point being should take it in the right spirit.
According to me, rating an article should be a very fair and concise one. The categories available to rate the interview are Highly Recommended, Recommended, Somewhat Recommended and Not Recommended.
Also one has the option to read the review and let it be without rating. Choice is entirely the readers.
According to me, one must not start rating a review by having bias of any kind. Just because a member has rated your review as recommended or somewhat recommended, you do same for his review. A review has to be read and seen as to how much a writer has done justice to the topic he has chosen to write. For e.g. he chooses a movie review then details like star cast, producer, director, music director, costumes(as now they become an integral part of a award function also) choreography, photography, locations(if Know) story writer, lyricists, the more detail given the better and interesting reading. In the same way a topic itself decides its contents which I think a writer should able to deliver. Based on this one could judge the review. Sometimes its necessary that with a rating one should also be able to give a comment for the review which makes it easier to understand a rating given. If the rating given are low than one should know that one could improve with more writings.
One thing that comes to the fore very clear is that while rating and commenting, one is able to make a lot of friends through this because in return one gets a lot of replies too.
