I feel the rating system used in the mouthshut is very good. Everyone has their own style of seeing things. Everybody differs in their opinion. Most cases we accept to differ. This particular site gives value for all the writings and it performs the negotiators role to perfection. The saying goes like this ’’we don’t fear to negotiate, but we don’t negotiate out of fear’’.
I do agree that the reviews given by others may most of the time be biased or one sided. That can be expected from us also. We like something and we hate something. Even people support terrorists and justify their action. Even the war on Iraq is justified.
I feel the majority concept may some time go wrong. To avoid this the mouthshut.com can have exclusive review team which could review all the writings and rate apart from the member rating. It can even give negative points to the unpleasant writings and award bonus points for the best ones.
To say frankly I am happy with the system of mouthshut.com which uses the policy of ’’Consensus ad idem’’ or the majority is always right. It might backfire a few times but not always.
