In this review, you will find important information on how to rate others reviews. There are certain reasons I rate a review the way I do and I’d like to outline how and why you should follow this same criteria.
Regular Rating
First of all, Mouthshut.com’s requirements are that each review to be 75 words. Already, if I see a review thats 75-100 words ... forget about it, automatic Recommended. If this review fails to talk about one third to one half sufficiency of the topic or product, automatic Somewhat Recommended and an automatic Not Recommended for a blatant attempt to reach the minimum using repetition (’’the the the product is is is’’) or (’’la la la la la la la la’’)
Highly recommended reviews are given out by me to reviews that fully explain the topic, both advantages and disadvantages as well as a description from many tangents that are sufficient for the reader to exactly know what you are talking about.
Revenge Rating
NEVER EVER EVER DO THIS! I’m telling you it will come back to haunt you! If you give a member an SR on a review and they come back to revenge rate you on your best review with an NR, do not go back to revenge rate them. It makes them look even dumber.
Let that rating stay, I guess email them and ask them why they did rate you that way and they will either have the maturity to respond or will simply never answer you.
When other people see that they have revenge rated you, they will remember you, distrust you, or even email you and snap on you, ..... eventually everyone will hate you, fail to go back to your reviews and you’re definitely screwed.
Sleepy Ratings
This is what I call ratings by people who simply go through the list of reviews and gives Automatic HR’s to earn royalties. Not only can it be considered cheating but it’s an insult to the writer.
Be My Friend Ratings
Trying to earn someones trust or their visitation back to your profile by giving them an HR when a majority has rated them an SR or NR.
Lastly ..... RATE IT, not just READ IT
Rating is simple and it doesn’t take too much of your time, unless you are working on a 2.4K modem and a Commodore 64. If you read something, just rate it so that the person can earn that rating and maybe boost themselves up the topic list by number of reads!
All in all, these are the necessary steps that I follow and if you do so too, there will be no problems. :)
