I’m sharing my personal experience about Ratna Memorial Hospital, SB Road, Pune. My husband was having kidney stone problem. So we have referred urologist who was attached to that hospital. Urologist was best no doubt about doctor but the he advised to do laser surgery and suggested Ratna Memorial Hospital. So we came in hospital and done the same surgery. After operation we demanded special room for operated patient; but after seeing rates we preferred semi-special room. Rates were so high as compared to other hospital’s special room. Semi special room was also too dirty and 2 patients were present in a room, separated by simple plywood sheet with common washroom. That was just like general ward only 1 extra bed was provided, no other facility was provided. Charges of operation theater and doctor was moderate but nurse charges were too high. This was very surprising, nurse’s charges were high than doctor’s charges. We stood their in hospital only for one day and paid bill 75, 000 rupees; which contained 50% charges of nurses only and other 50% for doctor, OT and infrastructure charges. We made inquiry about the charges, respective person asked about medical policy. But policy was not their for our patient. So when you are planning for any operation/surgery in Ratna hospital, first see all rates of medical care facilities and then take a risk to get admit otherwise you should have medical policy for patient.
