India But where is UK?

When Asian Age was launched in the UK, all of us were thrilled that now we will have a platform to air our views and opinions, and that the problems and obstacles faced by the Indian community will be highlighted. But alas it turned out to be like any other newspaper which is imported from India, full of Indian news, petty squabbles of the political parties. The Indian newspapers carry the Indian news, is well understood but Asian Age’s London edition to do the same is beyond comprehension.

The newspaper, besides the Indian news, is also full of sales & cultural events in India( no relevance to the local Indian population) and no local news at all. The price too is very high

Fifty Pence (35 Rupees).

No wonder then that the Asian Age has very very

limited readership. The local Indian newspapers,

like The Eastern Eye ot the Asian Voice, though weeklies, have a very high readership and generate

more revenue in advertisements from the local authorities and the government.
