Body of lies is here in Bangalore people! Directed by Ridley Scot the movie stars Leonardo Dicaprio in no mushy look with Russell Crowe at his bastardish best!
I just wanted to see an English movie and landed up at this mall starngely called the Lido mall near Ulsoor lake in Bangalore for an early morning show (10.00am) to save my money incase I decided to see a well directed flop. Happy to get myself a ticket for 1oo bucks I picked up this movie not knowing what to expect. The beginning will shake you down and prepare you for what is just the opening of Pandora’s box of serial explosions, choppers in Iraq and Islamic militants being traced by US diplomats.
The director tried to play with romance between the titanic star and a not so interested Iranian nurse but ultimately decided to kill the romance to make way for more serious killings. The satellite tracking of people, conversations will freak you out and thank for once that being in India you are still free to defecate in privacy.
As the plot unfolds one is left with a sinking feeling in the stomach that the American hotshot has been ripped of his conscience by the famous Crowe but the end will just appeal to many of those like me who believe orders need to have some basis without which they should not be carried out.
It is a must see for all those who have grown beyond the chocolate looks of dicaprio in Blood diamond and are willing to see him in a more confrontation role.
