Recently, we admitted our sister for delivery. When we verified the treatment cost with the hospital staff, they told us a normal delivery would cost 45, 000 and a C-section would cost around 65, 000 in the general ward. After verifying 1000 rupees as a room tariff for the general ward with hospital management, we admitted our sister to the general ward.
At the time of discharge, they charged twice the amount for the C-section, and they billed 120000 rupees. When we raised our concern about the treatment cost, they casually told us every insurance holder has to pay twice the amount as the room rent. For the general ward, they charge 1000 rupees as room rent for non-insurance holders, and for the same room, for insurance holders, they charge 2000 rupees. This is a bogus way of cheating its patients, and forcing them to pay twice is organised looting. As we are all aware, the room rent ceiling greatly influences our treatment costs; we ended up paying 55, 000 rupees extra for a normal c-section. This hospital indirectly raises the room rent for the insurance holder without the knowledge of the patients, and miscommunication about the rent leads to a lack of transparency and makes its credibility a big question mark. Stay away from this kind of third-rated big-box hospital; they are not worth what they claim.and stand for.
