Honda Amaze in its 2nd generation model has a very ordinary exterior design, with its boxy looks, it will not appeal to many.
Its body looks personally reminds me of the car Premier 118 NE which used to be a popular car quite active in the market in late 80s and early 90s.
On design front the car is a big let down, but features and performance wise, Honda has a winner up its sleeve.
With standard features like ABS+EBD, dual Airbags in front in all variants and a class leading 420 Litres of boot space, good legroom at the back, the car gives exceptional performance.
Even though Honda has set a benchmark by offering safety features(read ABS, EBD, Airbags) as standard across all its variants, where it takes a beating is in features like projector headlamps, daylight running LEDs, driver armrest, rear AC vents all of which are missing even in the top model.
On the contrary, Tata Tigor gets option of smoked projector headlamps, daylight running LEDs at a cost lower than that of Amaze.
Amaze(petrol) gives decent mileage of 15-16 KMPL, though Honda claims a mileage of 19 KMPL. The 1.2 L petrol engine is ideal for city traffic but lacks punch on highways.
Overall, if you can ignore the design and want reliable and ergonomically well made car, then go ahead and buy the Honda Amaze. The CVT option makes a ideal choice for city driving as it is convenient to drive and gives decent mileage.
