So, friends Once again, we Loose the series abroad. India or abroad it just didn’t matter. I think we Indians are traditional, we just neither left our great traditions nor we want to change it.
Our players (cricketers) played the game in true sportsmen spirit. Lord Krishna says in Gita KARM KIYE JAA, PHAL KI CHINTA MUT KAR. I feel our players strongly believe in this, although the outcome (result) of the match will decided by the Fixers isn’t it???
It is not that we loose in Cricket, other games like Hockey, Football Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Athletics, Gymnastic, we created records, which I guess is pretty hard to break, though exceptions are everywhere, we do have good players like Vishwanathan Anand, Paes& Bhupati, but exceptions doesn’t make socity,
In Olympics, small countires like Cameroon, Costa Rica, Chile etc. can easily won 2-3 gold medals but see our Indian Heroes, they just play as I mention earlier in a TRUE SPORTSMEN SPIRIT, they just don’t want to put themselves in Medal Race.
In fact, we as you are well aware were called SONE KI CHIRIYA (Golden Bird) some time back, so the idea of getting gold or silver medal didn’t appeal to us & bronze it is against our ethics & SHAAN. So whenever we came empty handed our chest swell with pride.
In the same way our perspective regarding Football & Cricket is very liberal & unselfish. If we are playing in India, we don’t beat them because in our tradition GUEST IS GOD ( Aththi Devo Bhava), so don’t want to insult our gods in the same way when we are playing abroad, we don’t beat them because they are our host & it is our duty to facilitate their dues of hosting us & moreover in they got so many attractions like shopping, holidaying etc. our players are more inclined towards them rather than playing & what about playing we are playing on daily basis how does one more loose make much of a difference.
There is an old saying APNI GALI MEIN KUTA BHI SHER HOTA HAI, now are not dogs so we loose in our home grounds too. We are so honest that we don’t make pitches that suits us & we never make umpires to favor us & MATCH FIXING my god, though it is different thing that you put allegations of bad playing on others or captains having millions as a undisclosed property, but see their honesty he disclosed everything in front of IT officials. We prefer an honest lost in place of win which earned by not so good ways...
Do you know what is our national sport, no it is not Cricket, it is Hockey, but cricket has made Hockey a secondary sport as English made Hindi a secondary language in India.
Multinational companies pump in a lot of money in cricket that why rest other games (Kabbadi Kho-Kho etc.) are on the verge of extinction in the same way as the development scheme in Laloo- Rabri Regime in Bihar.
Match fixing had create Tehelka in & around the world, but still Tournaments & championships are organized with great pomp & show like unlike all the pitfalls, allegations & cases Laloo- Rabri Raaj in Bihar.
I think we should stop organizing & participating in these games & started new ones like:-
CORRUPTION, SCAMS & POLITICS.
I Am sure if we started participating in these, we definitely gets couple of gold medals because our performance in these is getting better & better day by day.
In short, if playing is our birthright so loosing can be a tentitative outcome.
We play to loose , we are a looser, we play again & again just to loose again, we got habitual of loosing, we mastered the art of smiling if you loose pathetically (India’s recent NZ tour).
That’s why I said HAARTE HAIN SHAAN SE….
