WHAT DO THE CRITICS HAVE TO SAY: -
# Different storyline, never even thought if a movie can be made on such topic, and credit goes to HONEY IRANI.
# Fantastic music, awesome picturisation and what else to say, a complete entertainer.
# Such variety in the double roles can be expected only by Sri Devi, another stunning performance after CHAALBAAZ.
# Nice to see Waheeda Ji on silver screen after such a long time.
# Though the story is different, seems dull at few points, even we can say that it looks boring.
SOME FACTS ABOUT THE MOVIE: -
Sitting on the camel was really dangerous and SRI was afraid and once she could have fallen but can you make out any fear, on the SCREEN, noooooooo. Such is the charm of this beautiful actress.
It was damn hot and to add there was no AC, can think about the condition.
Film won five national awards.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO SAY: -
SRI DEVI: -
Only Sri could have done justice to the role, stunning performance by her and the co-stars, actually the whole movie revolves around her. She is the heart and soul of movie. She looks real beauty (not a plastic doll at all) in her RAJASTHANI outfits.
ANIL KAPOOR: -
KUNWAR JI is as usual cool and calm. But if you look at it from perfection point of view then he lacks the fire. Seriousness throughout the movie make him sound monotonous.
WAHEEDA REHMAN: -
A star is a star forever and you can see this in WAHEEDA JI. Compare her with her performance and you will find she has not changed at all she leaves you mesmerised even today.
ANUPAM KHER: -
Simply awesome.
MUSIC: -
Music is lively, you can the rhythm in your heart. Every beat reminds you of something that you never thought about in the past. It speaks, and you can feel the mood that you’re in. it makes you dance, mourn and leaves smiles after you’re done. Heard real music after such a long time. Applaud for SHIV-HARI. Moments of rage, is the best composition.
LYRICS: -
I think just name is enough, ya the songs are penned by the legend ANAND BAKSHI. ‘CHUDIYAN KHANAK GAYIN’ and ‘MEGHA RE MEGHA’ takes you to RAJASTHAN. Typical traditional songs, beautiful https://lyrics. ‘MOHE CHEDO NA’ is a devotional song, and only ANAND SAHAB could have written such a lovely song. FREAK OUT is the main attraction, including old songs that will remind you of the richness of lyricists in the past.
DIRECTION: -
YASH CHOPRA, is an institution in himself but even then his taut direction was missing, the movie seemed dull mainly in the second half. Most of the frames are beautiful but the best are the ones picturised in RAJASTHAN. He wouldn’t have been able to handle the culture of the place properly. It seems he was so much obsessed with the star-cast that he forgot his own part. Can’t be called a director movie as most of the movies of this director are.
CINEMATOGRAPHY: -
Beautiful, hope that’s enough.
PICTURIZATION: -
YASH CHOPRA is known for picturization, won’t call it the best but yes, worth watching for.
WHY TO WATCH: -
If looking for the best performance of SRI.
WHY NOT TO WATCH: -
If looking for a fast movie and beautifully woven love patterns.
