Little Miss Sunshine was released in 2006 by 20th Century Fox. It was produced by Robert Alman, (who died after it was released).
The Directors are Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris. The screen play was written by Michael Arndt. It is rate R and it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to see it.
The movie was filmed in Flagstaff & Phoenix, Arizona and Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Clara all in the USA. It was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival in Arizona.
The Main Cast:
Abigail Breslin is Olive Hoover.
Greg Kinnear is Richard, (Olives father).
Paul Dano is Dwayne, (Olives brother).
Alan Arkin is Grandpa.
Toni Collette is Sheryl, (Olives mother).
Steve Carell is Frank, (Olives uncle).
The Plot:
The Olives family live in New Mexico. Grandpa has been teaching all of her moves if she should ever be a finalist in a beauty contest. So far she hasnt won.
Olive tries to become the representative for New Mexico in the Little Miss Sunshine Contest to be held in Los Angeles.
Suddenly the family gets a phone call that the Miss New Mexico has been disqualified and they must have Olive in Los Angeles
Her mother want her to go but her father doesnt. Mother knows best so they are off to California.
The rest if the film is about their trip to California in with all 6 crammed in their Volkswagen bus.
The Music:
I enjoyed DeVotchkas score.

What I Thought:
This movie is so funny that I can hardly type what I thought about it, (Im laughing so hard).
It’s a great comedy with a lot of absurd situations. The performers were brilliant especially Alan Arkin and Abigail Breslin.
Its a gem of a movie.
