I was referred to money minar by a friend who was their old customer. I approached them to buy an insurance policy for investment.
After looking at my portfolio they flatly refused to give me any more policies since I already have 13 policies running and suggested I should invest in mutual funds instead. I was extremely sceptical of investing in stock markets, but given the confidence my friend had in them, I took the plunge and invested a small amount. When I saw profits in 3 months, I invested a lot more money in funds they suggested.
Around a month back, they asked me to pull out all my money from the funds, saying they expected the markets to fall and that I should book my profits and exit. Seeing huge gains, I was again unsure and to be honest was also feeling a bit greedy to stay invested longer and make more profit.
My wife however insisted that I must exit the funds if their experts felt so. Unwillingly, I encashed about 90% of my funds, but felt bad about this decision. Much to my relief, a week later the market started to fall drastically and has been coming down consistently.
Thankfully, I made a huge profit, enough to finance the down payment of a new sedan car. Thank You Money minar! for your insights on mutual funds and for insisting on your stand both the times ( even against my wishes) , and ensuring I make such a gain.
