A Present for you!

As indicative by title, this book might seem another advice book, which counsels you to live life in present. But it is much more than that; it is a journey into depths and folds of the present moment and will help you to focus on what will make you happy and successful in your work and in your personal life.

It is an engaging story of life journey of a very young boy to adulthood, in which he keeps on searching about the elusive gift ‘The present’ which could change his life, as told to him by his friend and mentor, an old man. As a teen he often gets confused and disappointed by the wise answers of the old man, not able to understand that the Present is a gift you give to yourself.

As a young man when his personal and professional life was in a mess, again he  tried to find ‘the Present’ and got comforted by the advice of the old man to stop trying hard and he will find it easier to discover.  And then one day, in a comfort cabin of his friend in mountains, while marveling over the fireplace he realized that one is happier and more effective when one is fully engaged in what he is doing and intent only on what is happening. He knew what the Present was…. But story does not stop here, till now it was just another book, but after that each chapter becomes an insight to feel more alive, being more productive and more prosperous. Here are a few picks of the lot…

“Even in a bad and painful situation, When stay fully in The Present and have felt the pain, and feel drained by it, you can begin to look for what is right and build on it. Pain in The Present, like everything else, is constantly changing, it will come and go.”

“Anytime you are unhappy in The Present and want to enjoy The Present more, it is time for you to learn more from the past. It will also help to create the meaningful future”.

“You cannot change the past, but you can learn from it. When the same situation arises, you can do things differently and become happier, more effective and successful today”

“Being more successful means becoming more of who you are capable of being. Each of us defines for ourselves what it means to be more successful.”

The book is timely gift by author Spencer Johnson, M.D., who also authored “Who moved my cheese”, which is the No. 1 international best seller. No doubt, this book is an insightful tale of inspiration and realistic guidance for these chaotic times.
