I have been owning a Samsung L100 for over 2 years now. I have used it for indoor, outdoor, tourism photography.
My Experience :
8 Mp is enough for a good photograph.
Optimum Light i.e. Sunny outdoor and Bright Indoor lighting is very important for good photography on the L100.
3.You can put the L 100 in your pocket and forget that you have a camera along. You can easily hide the camera below your American size visiting card. But it is not that slim.
Photos which you see on the L100 viewfinder (2.5") are brighter than how they appear on your PC Screen.
The Auto mode is very good and you can get fairly o.k photos in tubelight indoors without flash.
When you use flash, faces of people look very oily/reddish etc. and backgrounds become very dark. Flash is good only for subjects about 5-6 feet away from the cam.
Macro requires very good indirect lighting but even then I did not get very good results with macros on L100.
I got very good results in Manual mode without flash but you need a stand in low light conditions.
Night photography in L100 is a great weakness. All sources of light like street lights etc. get Haloed but signages and other objects appear natural.
Video is OK. But you can play pics and vedio on your TV.
The Battery is decidedly inadequate. The worst thing is the SLB-10A is not even available on Ebay India. Flat Lithium Batteries of all prominent Mfrs. Like Cannon, Sony, Kodak, Nikkon, Olympus even Panasonic. But I think I will have to depend on my friends going to Honkong where these batteries are available.
I bought this Camera fro Rs.8, 500/- in 2008. I do not think it is available now there is no use recomending or not recomending this product .
However Now you have cameras with wider angles (28) and great zooms 4X or 5X in point and shoot and also offer hdmi vedio shooting.
Samsung consumables esp. batteries are not easily available in Mumbai and therefore you have to pay hefty price for originals or duplicates or else your purchase has a short life.
