I got this opportunity to Drive a Vento through one of my friends who has already booked it.
With the intention to see what kind of material IT IS at 10 Grands , I went to the Showroom with lots of Curiosity
To add up about me, I’m Having a Swift Diesel and Cross the Ernakulam to Coimbatore Highway quite often. During one such trips, I came across a VLKSWGN POLO and we were chasing each other for nearly 1 HR. I was really surprised with the way this Guy was driving.
With this in my mind I was really taken away with the MASTER peice of Engineering and was under the impression that by default they would have designed the vehicle to have great control and Ease of Driving.
To the Heights, there were even discussions along with my friends that
"Their Decission to launch in INDIA Itself is some thing great for us ... that too at this price point".
Ok Now back to the Showroom for test drive - The showroom itself was with a totally different outlook which made my expectations even more High.
I really like the Customization and Ethics maintained by the executives .
The vehicle was ready as such - a WHITE VOLKSWAGEN VENTO .
Great Appeal .. of a C+Segment Car easily.
Good Leg room in the rear seat.
Interiors were fresh ( May be that’s for any new CAR).
A Small KNOB in the Steering that’s a Good thought and will be handy at times in parking.
Kind of a new Attempt with the looks of Interiors and Console.
I took a Very short drive for abt MAX 3 KMs.
My initial impressions - I was not Exited.
Acceleration was not smooth, Clutch feeling artificial. Driver seat Comfort not so good.
There is an Arm rest between the front seats. This is the most artificial of the LOT.
Couldn’t understand the purpose of this. Also there is no option to Turn it in to a non disturbing position during Gear Shifts or when using handbrakes.
Or May be we should get used to it. May be Good when Driven through a Driver as the car itself is pampered much for a rear Seat Passenger.
The steering is very light and was giving a Good feedback.
Visibility is Good.
Road Presence is Good.
This was only a very short drive and hence please don’t conclude any thing based on this. Also it was a test drive vehicle which I drove and hence subject to conditions ..
The initial impression is that spark that makes you go for a CAR desperate (may even make you stretch you budget plans). But I miss to get that over here. Couldn’t identify that WOW factor here...
I would like the VOLKSWAGEN Authorities to know that we have GREAT Expectations by just looking at your BRAND in INDIA.
