What was promised as a one night stay turned out to be five days simply because the doctors were "not satisfied" with the progress even though my wife was feeling very fine. Airport like baggage checks at the time of admission are outright insulting. Rough looking lady guards are posted at the entrance to check bags & intimidate people. They treat us like we might be carrying explosives. The lousy food provided is specifically meant to extend the stay of patients.
Outside food is strictly prohibited which we could understand, but what we couldn’t understand is that we were prevented even from bringing bed sheets, bed spreads & pillows. A small sofa cum bed is provided in which two people are expected to sleep. An awkward situation arose where myself and my mother in law were the two attenders. We pleaded with them to allow us some bed sheets so that one of us could sleep on floor but were refused. So we had to book a hotel room just for one of us to spend the night. The doctor advised my wife to drink a lot of fruit juice.
As I was carrying a bag of fruit to the room, a lady thug charged at me & violently snatched away the fruit. I was told that I could squeeze the juice in the filthy dining room on the ground floor & take it to our room. This was because a lot of patients mess the rooms making juice & they have a hard time cleaning it. The world class facilities advertised here are available at most hospitals in the city. No matter how desperate you are, avoid this place & save your dignity.
