Recruitment Fairs are an interesting innovation in the field of Human Resource Management. Going to a Recruitment Fair means you are going to get information on different types of jobs which you get for the asking. This is far from the truth. In the Recruitment Fairs one is supposed to get information on various jobs available, preferably through handouts prepared with imagination.
These handouts or folders are supposed to give the educational qualifications and training necessary for different jobs. In India, for the civil jobs, the * Recruitment Agencies* do not give any emphasis on the psychological traits, which should be present in the candidates. In the Defence services there is. And it pays rich dividends. However, the Human Resource Managers, or a consortium of them should help the organisers of Recruitment Fairs to make them as interesting, informative and productive as possible.
