Im not a big fan of the hannibal lector saga! its creepy and over rated at most times! the silence of the lambs was very well made, however it didnt motivate me to see Hannibal. some movies lose their charm if they make a sequel unnecessarily! its fun to be hanging in suspense at the end of the movie and wondering what happened to the main character at the end of the movie.
however, red dragon being a prequel and it starred ralph fiennes (my new crush) and edward norton (one of the best actors ive ever seen) it motivated me and my friends to check it out! I saw the movie months ago and can hardly remember the story line vividly enough to describe the plot, and plus it was so creepy that I choose to forget the plot! the only thing that stands out in my mind is the creepy dragon tattoo on ralph fiennes back and the icy coldness in anthony hopkins eyes! very convincing acting by the lead characters and it makes a great prequel to SOTL.
however, anthony hopkins falls in the trap of stereotype. his behaviour and performance is predictable, that doesnt necessarily mean the bad thing! this movie has a class appeal since it has seasoned stars associated with it and is definitely cut above the teeny slasher thriller/horror flicks. a must see for the hannibal lector fan and if you like to get a good scare!
