Born three years ago in a garage, TUSHQA SOUND TECHNOLOGY is an endeavour to promote new age music in South East Asia. The hallmark sound is a heady mix of cutting edge electronic music with a essential human core. TUSHQA’s style can be described as Funk, Balearic House, with some lashings of Techno. Having ridden the pulse of the underground music scene in Europe, exploring the club vibe, TUSHQA branched out into his own style of funk rhythm.
Coming onto his own, his first single was released under the Italian label BLISS. He followed its success with two more releases. He is presently negotiating with the German label KOZZMOZZ, regarding a new project. Feeling the need to further broad base his music and incorporate new influences, TUSHQA is busy amalgamating Sufi flavour into his sounds. His efforts to create this fusion culminated in the background score for MUZAFFER ALI’S film on Islam called RAQS-E-DIL. The partnership, in collaboration with the renowned singers USTAD FARIDUDDIN DAGAR and NOORAL HASSAN, also resulted in a fusion album called JAAM-E-ISHQ (the Cup Of Love) and has just been released.
TUSHQA is currently producing a Lounge cum Funk House album with the Indian pop star ANIADA. TUSHQA has also been associated with India’s leading fashion designers in meeting their line specific requirements for their fashion shows. He has also composed and programmed music for the LAKME INDIA FASHION WEEK 2000/2001 and the Indian segment on the international fashion channel FTV.
TUSHQA was the only Indian to have played LIVE at the VISIONS one of the biggest electronic music industry festival in August 2000 in Switzerland alongside big international artists like CHEMICAL BROTHERS & SVEN VATH. Past performances include renowned clubs in Paris like MONKEY BAR & MANRAY and SUMMER TERRACE & MONDO in Germany. Although LIVE COMPOSING is a new concept in India, TUSHQA has done numerous performances in various night clubs creating extreme music on the go, each performances is like a sheer explosion of raw energy. Currently, TUSHQA is the resident Dj at the REDLIGHT nightclub in Mumbai.
