I had booked a ticket from Bangalore to Chennai through Redbus for a Volvo bus operated by Roadlink travels(one of the top travel companies going by the reviews posted on the Redbus site)
A few hours before the journey I called up the operator for confirmation and he said that there was no record of my transaction and that my seat has been allotted to a different person. On calling up the redbus customer helpline, I was told the bus has been cancelled and that the operator had intimated the affected passengers.
I did not receive any intimation about cancellation of the bus. It is difficult to believe that an operator has cancelled a bus on a busy day before the Ugadi weekend. Most probably the operator had just sold the redbus tickets for a higher price to other passengers.
This is ==pathetic customer service and not one I expected from Redbus and its associates. My travel plans were completely spoiled and I had to rush from pillar to post to find an alternate means of travel.
On the plus side, Redbus’s support staff was helpful, but couldnt do much other than inform me that the ticket was not available. So beware before you book on Redbus! For all you know, your ticket might not be valid.
