Falls Short !

William Diehl seems to have written this book for purely commercial reasons. This book has neither the scorching pace of Primal Fear nor any class of its own.

The plot mainly revolves around a militia group in Montana who are led by a man known as General Engstrom. This Engstrom d00d used to be a real hot shot in ’Nam but is pissed ’cos having served in Black Ops noone ever called him a Hero or gave him a rank or nething. Poor guy retired as Colonel and when he joined the National Guard thats when he got the Lt.General rank. Anyway, this Engstrom fellow is an Egomaniac who thinks that the ’’JEWS’’ control everything and have a ’’shadow government’’ in place. So what better way than to start ones own militia back it up with 3-4 churches, couple of radio stations and some banks to launder the illegal money.

Matin Viel, the hotshot lawyer from Primal Fear is brought into the plot as the d00d who has just got some real toughies (politically strong) arraigned under RICO as the Illinois State Attorney General. RICO is an act passed by the US Govt. to prevent a string of organisations from cooperating in a felony. If the felony charge is proven and the evidence also proves that the other organisations knowingly helped then the whole bunch goes in under RICO.

So anyway, Mr. Diehl really bends over backward, pushes the churches, banks, radio stations etc. with the militia just so that Martin Veil can be brought in to get a RICO investigation underway.

Thats enough about the plot I think.

Now William Diehl has done such a sloppy job that I wonder if the draft ever got to an editor ?!!

Ex-

  1. The Attorney General is referred to as ’’General’’ which is really funny

  2. A Military attack takes place where an entire regiment is placed under the command of a Colonel, the Field Officer is a Captain and besides one other Lt. their is no other officer in the force.

On the whole, looks like Mr.Diehl got drunk, was pressurised by his publishers to rush a novel and I landed up with ’’Reign in Hell’’ !
