I am a Residential consumer of Reliance Energy 7 live in Powai. In Bill
of Jul’06 which is rxd on 17 Aug’06, there was an Adjustment charge of Rs 42.
On Query, REL CC informed that it consists of Rs 21 towards Security deposit & Rs 21 towards CFL Bulbs instalment. When I queries that why Security deposit is being recovered as adjustment, the agent had no answer. He just advised me to pay the bill in full or face penalty.
I recall that MERC had stopped REL from colelcting addl Security deposit from Residential consumers. However REL is now collecting Addl security deposit as "Adjustment charges" thus hiding the fact from consumers. Request you to immediately check ur monthly bills for this charge & query REL CC 30303030. ALso log a complaint with MERC at mercindia@mercindia.org.in
