It came with a big boom and I started visiting Reliance Fresh as I found some points better than the local Rythu Bazaar.
I don’t have to carry a bag all the times.
There is no minimum quantity restriction.
Get lot of variety in the same place, thus saving my time.
But lately, like all other business houses, once they got a good customer base, they started neglecting. Weighing machines started vanishing, A/Cs stopped working, Queues started getting longer as some counters doesn’t work, and most important, the freshness in the green vegetables are no more there.
I became very happy when a store opened in Hyderguda last year, which is almost 2 KMs from my house. Otherwise I used to go to either Tolichowki store or Mehdipatnam store, almost 7-8 KMs. Story remained the same.freshness started vanishing. Now I go to Reliance only to pickup Onions, Potatoes, Bread & Mineral Water.
If customer is not careful, they may add some items in the bill, wil not put some items in the bag and most of the time they are not updated with "Offer of the day".
They started unsolicited SMS marketing(My mistake to give them my primary number while registering for the reliance once card) and calls from ICICI Lombard, as they have a tie-up. Although my number is registered in National Do Not Call Registry and I gave a written request in the complaint book, it has not stopped.
Parking is not an issue in Reliance Fresh but I lost my helmet. They do not have a token system and the guard happily gave my brand new Vega helmet so somebody else and handed me a local made, used and broken helmet.
Price is not very competetive to other retail stores, infact they put their own price tag in Monginis Products. I have created a list of items fit to be bought from reliance and strictly follow that.
My final comment on Reliance Fresh is "Just another shop" and recommend to go only when it is a dire urgency with no other alternative.
