Internet access through data packs and open Wi-Fi networks is not always a feasible choice everywhere. Therefore, an Internet dongle serves the purpose of providing the Internet hotspot where more than one device is required to be connected simultaneously.
Reliance has introduced itsportable Wi-fi internet router namedJio-Fi.The second generation of the dongle is availableonthe market since earlier 2016 September.JioFi wifi router can be connected withnon-4G devices as well. Hence, it is of use to a much wider range of customers.
I have been using jiofi over two months time so let me share my experience with you all. After that you can decide to buy jiofi or not.
I bought jiofi at the cost of Rs 1999/- from reliance trends and headed towards my home. I was really excited to use it and in hurry reached my place after that I opened the package. I found the router lying inside and was kind of astonished by the look of it. I really loved the design of the router.
Now when I turned on the router than I really couldn’t understand anything. So I took out the manual and started reading it. After half an hour I understood completely how to use the router. I want to share my experience with you all on how to setup a new router.
First- open the router back portion and then I would like you all to note down the router name. Below it the password of router is given, I want you all to note this down also as its going to be useful later.
After that I would like you all to set up the battery provided. But before that lets not forget about the sim. To insert the sim make sure that it is of nano size. A sim slot option had been provided. Look at the picture of the sim that is next to the sim slot carefully and insert the sim the same way. ( Make sure the sim that you inserted has been activated) . After the sim is placed you can now insert the battery.
To do so tear the package of the battery. Then place the battery carefully. You can see the signs to insert the battery. After the battery is placed make sure to put back the back cover.
Then turn on jiofi. For that you need to hold the power switch for about 3-5 second. As soon as you turn on you will see four lights blinking once and then gone. After that only network and battery option will blink twice.
If the network is green then it means the signal strength is great. If blue then the signal strength is less. But if it is red then it means no signal/ insert the sim properly.
Next to network option there is data connectivity option. Next to that is wifi option and next to that is wps option.
Now the signal is green or blue, so lets try to connect to the hotspot. For that, in your smartphone goto settings> wifi option. From there you select the name of your jio fi device. Select the device and write the password. After that press the connect option and you will be connected to jiofi.
After that you can surf the net. But a question will come in your mind that can I not set my own hotspot name and password. Then let me answer your question. Yes you can. For that just open your browser such as google chrome and type the site as given in the manual.
You will enter a site where all you jiofi details is given. There you see on the top right corner. You will see a sign in option given. Click on it and they will ask name and password. Enter
Name: administrator
Password: administrator
Under ‘JioFi Web Configuration panel’ you can modify default settings to enhance JioFi usage experience.
There you can change your password and name of your hotspot.
Note: Donot change DNS address and host under any circumstances.
Internet speed( 4/5) : I have been using jiofi since two months and the speed that I got was great during surfing time. I had no network issue while playing games. The downloading speed is from 2-4 mb/s.
Connection reability( 3/5) : The network signal is always strong. But sometimes the strength is weak. While travelling in train the signal goes down to dead at some places.
Service and support( 4/5) : There are many service centre. Where ever you will go you will find one. The customer care services are great. If you have any issue then try calling a customer care.
So if you want a router then I want to suggest you to buy this router as it provides you 5-6 hour back up time and you can use it to connect maximum of 31 person, so its pretty awesome.
