So many reviews have been written and therefore I shall keep it very short.
Their network coverage is superb....
Voice quality is also very good...
Customer service is just okay...
Charges / billing is the most unreliable and most suspicious too...particularly their billing...hence switched over to prepaid after almost 2 and a half years...(here also they don’t allow me to switch over to postpaid with the same no.) and now I have a separate postpaid data card...
Data transfer using datacard has dropped tremendously over the last one year...from almost 140kbps to just 67kbps (in and around Mumbai/Navi Mumbai area)....and only RIM offers Unlimited Plan for Internet users...
If your handset fails you are in trouble... unlike in GSM where you can use different handset and/or SIM card...since then I make it a point to carry a GSM set also...also whereas newer CDMA sets can take card they will not give card easily but will program the set itself....
Very limited choice in handset selection which has kept many from buying a colour handset...
Reluctance of RIM in upgrading firmware...
In a nutshell I continue using RIM as my no. is widely circulated among my relatives/friends/colleagues/contacts.....(and for that matter most of the networks also have lakuna in one way or the other) ...AND THAT ONE DAY WHEN NUMBER PORTABILITY WILL ARRIVE I SHALL SWITCH OVER TO SOME OTHER SERVICE PROVIDER....
