Review of the Worst - Reliance GSM Services

Review on Reliance GSM Service - Network coverage and Customer Care

I bought a Reliance GSM Connection on 24 Sep 09. I stay in Colaba in a very well ventilated house on the 5th Floor (top floor). There is absolutely no network coverage in my house. There is no network signal even on the terrace. When I do a manual network scan on my mobile inside my house, atleast Seven networks appear on the mobile for selection. But Reliance GSM does not appear. I have also experience atleast 03 other networks which give full signal (Strength - Full 5 out of 5) inside my house. I am sure the balance networks which show in the network scan would give a reasonable network coverage. Reliance GSM network service coverage does not even appear on the mobile and is worst in Colaba, Mumbai.

If this is the state of Signal / Coverage of the so called ’’No. 1 Network in India’’ in Colaba of all places in the country, think for yourself, what would be the state in other not so posh areas. I leave that to your imagination.

Do not fall for the apparently cheap rate of the Reliance GSM call rates. For 4 to 6 paisa more per minute (STD), you will get many STANDARD GSM Services of Reputed Companies which are well established and have been proven over many years.

Reliance is once again displaying its cheapness by selling more SIMs than its network can handle. It is probably hoping to buy towers with the money collected from the sale of SIM Cards and the money saved from the services which are promised to the customers but which the customers are unable to avail.

Secondly, the Reliance GSM customer care is the worst of all the Customer care I have interacted with. Their basic english language is pathetic and their logic and reasoning is atrocious. They do not answer to the question you ask and give absolutely nonsense replies. They go beating around the bush but will never accept their fault or give specific reply to your questions.

The Reliance GSM customer care is the only call center where the Customer Care Executive is authorised to disconnect the call without the caller (you) hanging up. So if that person who attends your call cannot understand your problem or does not have any reasonable answer, he / she will just disconnect your call or tell you that he is checking, keep the music on for sometime and thereafter the call will be automatically disconnected. You may keep on calling, but you may never be able to get a reasonable answer. Many times they also fool you by saying that they are transferring the call to some other depart and start the music and thereafter automatically disconnect your call.

Trust me, if you have concern for the quality of Network coverage or the quality of Customer Service, do not waste your precious time and money on this product. Try any other company which is well established over many years and has proven itself in GSM Services.

When I visited the Reliance Web World at Fort, they even told me that if I have not been getting the signal for the last 07 days both at my place of residence and work in Colaba, it is unlikely that the company will install new towers and therefore I will not get the coverage in the near future.
